Neil O’Brien Re-Elected As Harborough’s MP

Neil O’Brien has been re-elected as Harborough’s Conservative MP.

He increased his majority by nearly 5,000 votes, to just under 17,300, and spoke after he was announced the winner:

Labour’s Celia Hibbert came in second place, with 14,420 votes, Liberal Democrat Zuffar Haq came in third with 9103, The Green Party’s Darren Woodiwiss got 1709 votes and Independent Robin Lambert polled 389 votes.

The result was announced following the count at the Parklands Leisure Centre in Oadby at 3.45am.

Just over 57,000 people voted across Harborough, representing a 72% turnout and there were 212 spoiled ballot papers.

There were wins too for the Conservatives in the South Leicestershire, Kettering and Daventry constituencies.
