Nearly 1,000 Runners Take Part in Market Harborough Half-Marathon

Nearly a thousand people took part in Market Harborough’s half-marathon yesterday.
The new race started and finished at the showground, taking runners through villages around the town.

A couple also marked their 40th wedding anniversary by taking part in the event.
Michael and Sylvia Price from Husbands Bosworth dressed for the occasion too, with Sylvia wearing her original wedding dress and Michael running in hat and tails:

Tim Taylor from Arthingworth was also among the runners. He is completing a marathon every month for a year to raise money for Alcohol Change UK:

The event was supported by title sponsor Snap Fitness and a number of local partners and Harborough Athletic Club also helped runners prepare through a 10-week training programme, led by qualified coaches.
Two official charities — the Bodie Hodges Foundation and Voluntary Action South Leicestershire — are also benefiting from the event.
