MP Welcomes Cash Boost For Councils

Harborough’s MP has welcomed the government’s pledge to give local authorities a £600m funding boost.
Most of the money will help cash-strapped councils deal with the spiralling costs of children’s and adult social care.
The announcement comes just days after Neil O’Brien was one of over 40 of Conservatives to sign a letter to the Prime Minister, demanding extra funding to avoid cuts to services.
It yet to be announced how much of the extra cash will be awarded to Leicestershire County Council and Harborough District Council.
