More CCTV For Flytipping Hotspots

More covert CCTV cameras are to be installed at flytipping hotspots across Harborough.
It comes as the Council hands out its fifth fine in four months related to the illegal dumping of rubbish.
The cameras, designed to catch people in the act, have already proved successful in helping to prosecute several people this year.
More will now go up as part of Harborough Council’s ‘Tip-Off’ campaign, that aims to reduce the amount of flytipping across the District.
The latest person to be fined is a woman from Kettering, who has been handed a £300 fixed penalty notice, after a large amount of construction waste dumped in a country lane near Shawell, was traced back to her.
She admitted failing to ensure the person who took it away was correctly registered to do so.
