Market Harborough Organist Retires After 40 Years

The organist at Market Harborough’s St Dionysius Church has retired after 40 years.
David Johnson played his final notes at a special service yesterday evening, during which he was thanked for his incredible service and presented with gifts.
He has played over 20,000 pieces of music at services, weddings, funerals and concerts since taking on the role in 1981 and was the longest serving organist in the church’s 800-year history.
The Leicester Cathedral Choir performed at yesterday’s service.
