Man Rescued After House Fire

Firefighters rescued a man after a fire broke out in a house in Market Harborough early on Saturday.

They were alerted to the blaze in Bath Street just after midnight, after a neighbour heard the smoke alarm and saw smoke coming out of the letter box.

The man was led to safety and treated at the scene by paramedics for the effects of inhaling smoke.

The fire, which caused smoke damage to the kitchen, started after cooking was left unattended in a microwave.
