Man Dies After Crash Near Market Harborough

A man has died following a crash on the B6047 near Market Harborough this morning.

Emergency services were called to Melton Road just after 4.50am, after the driver of a silver Ford Focus collided with the railway bridge between the A6 junction and East Langton.

The driver, a man in his 40s and the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who was on the road at the time or who may have dashcam footage of the car prior to the collision.

The crash happened at the railway bridge on the B6047 Melton Road

The road was closed for several hours while investigation work took place and reopened shortly before 2pm.

Police confirmed the rail network was not affected.
