Man Arrested Following Spate of Market Harborough Business Burglaries

Police have arrested a man following a series of burglaries targeting businesses in Market Harborough town centre.

The 47-year-old is being questioned in connection with an incident at Windowsill Houseplants on May 29th, as well as break-ins on June 4th at Lilybelle Beauty and Nails on St Mary’s Road, women’s clothing store Bebooted on Church Square and Nathan Smith Tattoo Studio on Manor Walk.

In each case, glass was smashed in front doors to gain entry. Small amounts of cash were reported stolen from some of the premises.

The arrests follow growing concern among local business owners after a number of shops were targeted in recent weeks.

Leicestershire Police said the man remains in custody and enquiries into the incidents are continuing.

Further burglaries were also reported early yesterday morning at additional premises in the town centre.
