Man Arrested After 2 People Injured In Crash

A man has been arrested after two people were injured in a crash on the A4304 between Market Harborough and Lubenham early this morning.

The 51-year-old is being held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, following the collision involving two vehicles.

Emergency services were called to Lubenham Hill just after 5.20am and firefighters cut free one casualty who was trapped.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “Two people have been taken to University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire.

“Injuries are being assessed but not believed to be life threatening.”

The road remains closed in both directions while collision investigation and recovery work continues.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Market Harborough and Kibworth attended the incident, adding: ” One person was trapped in the driver’s seat and had to be extricated, and a full roof removal was carried out for this to happen.

“The casualty was then transferred to hospital by East Midlands Ambulance Serivce.”
