Harborough District Council is carrying out the essential maintenance work on the A4303/A426 roundabout over the next three weeks.
Sir Frank Whittle was an aeronautical engineer, credited with inventing the turbojet engine in 1936. His works and test site were based at Ladywood Works in Lutterworth.
Cllr Phil King, Leader of Harborough District Council, said: “The Whittle jet is part of the identity of Lutterworth, and the wider district, and this important maintenance will help preserve and enhance this popular and iconic landmark.”
