Local Scout Leader to represent the UK

A local scout leader will be heading to South Korea next year – after being selected to represent the UK at a huge scouting event there.

The honour to help deliver the 25th World Scout Jamboree has been given to Aaron Shelton – better known as “Akela” to his 3rd Market Harborough Woden Cub group.

He’ll be among 950 volunteers and more than 3,000 young people from the UK who’ll be involved.

Altogether there will be around 40,000 Scouts from around the world hosted by the ‘Korea Scout Association’.

Aaron is part of the International Service Team – a multi-national group of adults who’ve volunteered to spend their summer holiday overseeing the event.
