‘Knife-Arch’ Deployed In Harborough
Written by HFM News on 19th September 2019
Police have deployed a metal detecting ‘knife-arch’ at Market Harborough railway station as part of a campaign to tackle knife-crime.
The metal detector has been set-up in the booking office as passengers head to and from platforms.
The action, demonstrated in the above video where Pc Paul Farrar, from Harborough Police, searches a passenger, is in support of Operation Sceptre, a week-long national campaign to target those carrying knives.
There have been three incidents in Market Harborough in the past year where people have been stabbed.
