Kibworth Tip Set To Re-Open Soon

A £5m upgrade of Kibworth tip is nearing completion.

The Recycling and Household Waste Site has been shut for over a year to allow for the major works, aimed at making it easier to use.

A reopening date has yet to be announced, but a spokesperson for Leicestershire County Council told HFM: “There are some minor works being undertaken on site, and we are still awaiting the permit from the Environment Agency which is required before the site can open.

“As soon as the works are completed and the permit has been issued, we will be in a position to announce a date for the opening of the Kibworth Recycling and Household Waste Site.”

The site on the A6 closed in November 2021 and it was initially thought it would re-open by the end of last year, although further drainage work was needed.
