Kettering Rd Re-Opens After Traffic Signals Upgraded
Written by HFM News on 2nd August 2021
Kettering Road in Little Bowden has re-opened after traffic lights were upgraded either side of the railway bridge.
The signals have been made permanent by Leicestershire County Council, after being installed as a temporary measure last year to boost safety for cyclists, pedestrians and drivers.
It followed a public consultation in which the public was overwhelmingly in favour of the move, together with keeping a wider cycling lane.
Cllr Ozzy O’Shea cabinet member for Highways and Transport said: “I am absolutely delighted that the response to the consultation has been overwhelmingly in favour of this scheme becoming permanent.
“There are real benefits to this scheme and I am pleased that residents in Market Harborough are supporting us in making roads safer for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.”
