Joy For Wildlife Hospital Staff As Seabird Released

A rehabilitated seabird which was one of Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital’s most unusual patients has been released back into the wild.
Staff from the Kibworth-based charity made a 320-mile round trip to return the Manx Shearwater to its home on the coast of west Wales.

They had been caring for the bird since last month when it was admitted in an exhausted state, after being found by a member of the public in Rugby.
It was thought it had got blown off-course in strong winds while en-route to South America, where the species migrate to for winter.
