Jobs At Risk At Sainsbury’s In Market Harborough

Some jobs have been put at risk at Sainsbury’s in Market Harborough as part of cost-cutting plans to cut 1,500 posts nationwide.
The retailer says ‘a small number’ of workers are affected after it announced changes to way it operates its in-store bakeries.
A consultation has begun with the members of staff, with the hope they can be offered alternative roles.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson told HFM: “We regularly review our services and recipes to make sure we’re offering customers the best quality food at great value.
“We’ve updated colleagues at our Market Harborough store to let them know that we’ll be changing the way we run our in-store bakery and as a result of this change, we’re speaking to a small number colleagues about opportunities to redeploy to other roles within Sainsbury’s.”
