Improvements Costing Over £145k Made To Harborough Market

Upgrades totalling over £145,00 have been made to Harborough Market including the installation of a new heating system.
Energy-efficient LED lighting has also been installed in the food hall of the indoor market, which has also been given a lick of paint.
The previous heating system failed earlier this year and new one, which incorporates air-conditioning, will keep a steady ambient temperature all year round, meaning traders such as Marks Fruit and Vegetables and John Ross Butchers will be able to manage the temperature of their produce with the benefit of less wastage.
Cllr Phil Knowles, Leader of Harborough District Council, spoke to HFM:

The Food Hall at Harborough Market
The market logo has been re-designed and is now pride of place on windows and doors with new vinyls on the Northampton Road windows showcasing the type of products on sale and listings of resident traders.
Customer and trader feedback has been positive with traders reporting an increase in sales following the improvements to the food hall.
The replacement heating system was funded by Harborough District Council as being incorporated in its Capital Programme, while the other improvements were paid for by the council using money from the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
