A week after The Harborough District was reported to have had one of the biggest weekly rises in Coronavirus cases in the country – following an outbreak at an unnamed school – the latest statistics indicate the local situation is now improving.
The most recent Government data shows just 19 people in Harborough had a confirmed positive COVID-19 test result within the past week – less than half the number recorded the week before.
However, public health official are warning against complacency – with the latest map for Market Harborough Central still showing an infection rate of 290.6 per 100,000 population – compared with the UK average of 22.
