Market Harborough’s historic St John Ambulance Station has sold at auction for £400,000.
The iconic building on Abbey Street sold for well above the guide price of £270,000.
It went under the hammer yesterday afternoon in a sale hosted by London-based property auctioneers Savills.
No details of the buyer, or what they plan to do with the iconic building, have been released.

Any change of use of the premises will be subject to planning permission and some parts will be protected from being altered, as the building was given grade-two listed status by Historic England last year,
St John Ambulance was forced to sell its base of nearly 100 years because of the impact of the pandemic on the charity’s finances nationwide.
Despite these premises’ sale, St John remains active in the local area.
