Highway Concerns Over Redevelopment Plan

Naseby Square
Highway bosses have raised concerns about Harborough Council’s controversial plan to redevelop an elderly persons’ independent living site in Market Harborough.
They say the proposed access off Naseby Square and some of the internal roads planned for the site could be unsuitable and parking provision needs to be looked at again.
Leicestershire County Council Highways also say the plan shows a disregard for pedestrians and cyclists, who currently use pathways in the area that would be lost if the plan goes ahead.
39 new homes are planned for the site, off Stuart Road, with 17 bungalows and eight flats being demolished as part of the redevelopment.
Harborough Council says it is addressing the concerns in amendments to the scheme.
A planning application is set to be considered shortly.
