Five Teens Arrested After High-Speed Police Pursuit Ends In Theddingworth

A high-speed Police pursuit across two counties ended when a car crashed in Theddingworth in the early hours of yesterday.
The driver and four passengers ran off, but were quickly found and arrested by officers, assisted by a Police helicopter crew and Police dog.

The Audi S3 had been followed along the M1 from Derbyshire, after allegedly driving at more than 100 miles per hour, before it crashed on the A4304 in the village.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: “West Yorkshire Police notified us of an Audi S3, which they had allegedly seen driving at excessing speed. Our officers saw the car on the M1 near Tibshelf and followed it.
“The vehicle allegedly continued to drive at more than 100mph and officers on the ground were joined by a police helicopter.
“The Audi stopped in Theddingworth, Leicestershire, and four teenagers and a 19-year-old man were arrested by colleagues from Leicestershire Police.
Usman Kiani, 19, of Cobden Street, Luton, has been charged with failing to stop for the police, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.
He will appear in Court next month.
Two 16-year-old boys and two aged 17, have been released under investigation.
