Warrant Issued After Man Fails To Attend Court Over Shop Burglaries

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man who burgled a shop in Market Harborough and is accused of breaking into two others.

Damion Maloney previously admitted stealing cash from the Windowsill houseplant shop on Roman Way in May.

He denies burglaries at Lilybelle Beauty and Nails and clothing store Bebooted the following month.

A number of shops were broken into

The 48-year-old from Glenfrith Close, Glenfield, Leicester, failed to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court yesterday for a case management hearing.

Maloney had been due to attend court as part of proceedings relating to the two alleged burglaries he denies.

The court heard previously that the Windowsill shop was broken into after a glass door was smashed, with cash stolen from inside.

Maloney has admitted that burglary but denies the allegations involving Lilybelle Beauty and Nails and the Bebooted clothing store.

Following his failure to attend yesterday’s hearing, Magistrates’ issued a warrant for his arrest.
