Tributes Paid to Much-Loved Market Harborough Shop Owner

Tributes have been paid to a well-known Market Harborough businessman who died following a crash near Church Langton.
Graham Mitchell, who ran the menswear store Room 17 on Adam and Eve Street, was riding his motorbike on the B6047 when it was involved in a collision with a vehicle on May 28th.
The 53-year-old has been described by family and friends as a much-loved son, father, brother, uncle and loyal friend who touched the lives of many people.

Tracy Dixon, who was Graham’s former partner and remained a close friend, said: “Graham was one of the good ones, a genuinely great guy who was kind, hardworking and always there to support others. He had a generous heart and an unwavering loyalty to the people he cared about.”
She said he was passionate about his successful business, motorbikes and Formula One, loved Manchester United and and loved to go fishing when back up in Inverbervie, Scotland, where he grew up.
“He made a lasting impression on everyone he met,” Tracy added. “To me, Graham was a constant, someone who remained a great friend and whose absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled.”
Fellow traders on Adam and Eve Street have also paid tribute to Graham, describing him as a popular and respected part of the town centre business community.

Graham was a prominent member of the Market Harborough Bikers group. He became one of the group’s leading figures following the deaths of founders Graeme and Elaine Winn, who were killed in a cable car crash in Italy last year.
Fellow biker Nikki Turner said Graham played a key role in keeping the group together, organising rides and social events while maintaining the strong sense of community among members.
She said: “He really was the glue that kept the group together. He will leave a huge and irreplaceable hole in all our hearts and lives, but will forever be riding out with us in spirit.”

Graham’s funeral will take place at Carlisle Crematorium on Monday, June 22, at 1.40pm.
Family flowers only have been requested, with donations in his memory supporting the work of Blood Bikes.
Leicestershire Police continue to investigate the collision.
