A film starring a Market Harborough actress is in the running for a prestigious national award.
Cassandra French plays the character of Lizzie in the British crime thriller Tales of the Underworld, which has been nominated for Best Independent Film at this year’s National Film Awards.

The film follows the success of Lucas and Albert, which was made by the same production team and also starred Cassandra. That film won Best Feature Film at the National Film Awards in 2021.
Produced by Longhurst and Putt Productions and Scruffy Bear Media, Tales of the Underworld has already attracted attention despite having had just one public screening, which took place at the Century Cinema in Clacton earlier this year.
Cassandra said she was proud to see the film recognised with a national nomination.
The winner will once again be decided by a public vote, with voting now open through the National Film Awards website HERE.
Cassandra is hoping residents across Market Harborough will get behind the nomination and vote for the film:
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on July 1st.
