Heartless Burglars Steal Disabled Girl’s New Wheelchair

Heartless burglars stole a disabled girl’s new wheelchair from her family’s home in Great Glen.

They also took her Mum’s Ford Focus mobility car from outside, after stealing the keys.

The intruders struck late on June 29th or in the early hours of the 30th while those in the house were asleep.

Mum Donna Farmer has launched a fundraising campaign to help her replace her eight-year-old daughter Daisy’s wheelchair, which cost £1,500, and has so far received donations of over £600.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “Police were called to a report of a burglary at a property in Great Glen just before 8am on Wednesday 30 June.

“Car keys were taken from the property and used to take the car – a Ford Focus.

“It is believed access was gained to the property via a ground floor window between 10.30pm on 29 June and 6am the following morning.

“The investigation is ongoing to identify those responsible for the burglary and to locate the stolen vehicle.”
