Harborough’s MP Welcomes Government Commitment To Invest In Leicester’s Hospitals

Harborough’s MP has welcomed the government’s commitment to fund major new facilities at Leicester’s hospitals.

The Royal Infirmary will receive new women’s and intensive care services, a new midwifery-led unit will be built at Leicester General Hospital and extra space created for new services at the Glenfield Hospital.

There will also be improvements to car parking at the Infirmary.

The amount of money to be allocated for the improvements is yet to be confirmed, but it is part of investment into hospitals worth £20 billion nationwide.

The timetable for when work will take place is also yet to be revealed.
