Market Harborough’s Eco Village has been named the country’s best sustainable business.
It has beaten off competition from dozens of others to win the title in an awards scheme run by lifestyle magazine Muddy Stilettos.
The Village on St Mary’s Road is home to a number of businesses, which all promote sustainability and runs projects like the community fridge to encourage people not to throw away food.
Co-founder Beth Lambert spoke to HFM:

Over 760,000 people voted for their favourite independent businesses in an on-line vote and the national winners were then decided by Muddy’s founder and editor-in-chief Hero Brown along with the team of regional editors.
Hero said: “I set up the Muddy Stilettos Awards nine years ago to give local, lifestyle businesses a chance to shout about how brilliant they are.
“The quality of the regional award winners has been so high over the years that it made sense to recognise and celebrate ‘the best of the best’ with a National Awards 2022.”
