Harborough Museum will feature in an episode of TV’s Bargain Hunt this week.

Cameras visited to see the Symington Collection while the team was filming in the area shopping for antiques.

The collection is internationally-renowned for the large amount of 19th and 20th century corsets, underwear and swim wear, all produced at the former factory on Adam and Eve Street, which is now home to the museum, library and council offices.

Museum Curator Sarah Nicol will appear in the episode, being interviewed by presenter Roo Irvine.

Sarah said: “The programme likes to showcase regionally and nationally important collections housed close to where they are filming and the Symington Collection certainly fits that bill.

“The collection is studied by researchers and fashion students from around the world and while some Symington items are on display in Harborough Museum others are accessible for pre booked visitors to the Collections Resource Centre.’

The episode is being screened at 12.15pm on Thursday on BBC1.
