Harborough Council Cuts Its Carbon Footprint

Harborough Council says its cut its carbon footprint by nearly a third in the last 10 years.
New figures show its emissions from gas, electricity, and vehicle fuel, have been reduced by 32.5% since 2008.
More efficient lighting at its Symington Building HQ, plus initiatives like green travel plans for staff, as well as work with contractors on fuel-efficiency training, have all contributed.
Meanwhile emissions at the Harborough Market have been reduced by nearly a quarter because of solar panels on the roof of the Market Hall.
