Harborough Charity Founder ‘Honoured’ To Attend Buckingham Palace Garden Party

The founder of a Market Harborough charity says it was ‘an honour’ to attend the King’s Garden party at Buckingham Palace.

Marie Connor was invited in recognition of her tireless work with HAB Anti-Bullying and Mental Health, which offers vital support to people and provides free counselling services.

She launched the charity after her disabled son was attacked during the Anti-Bullying Awareness Week in 2011, following years of bullying.

King Charles did not attend the prestigious event, but was instead represented by other Royals, with Prince William, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Peter Phillips and Zara and Mike Tindall all in attendance.

Marie says despite the weather and not getting to meet any of the royal family face-to-face, it was an amazing experience for her and partner Andrew Taylor:
