Harborough Campaigner Backs New Menopause Screening Plans

A campaigner from Market Harborough has welcomed the announcement Menopause screening is to be incorporated into NHS health checks for the first time.
Jane Pangbourne has been calling for better advice to be offered to patients on the symptoms of perimenopause and the effectiveness of regulated hormone replacement therapy (HRT), with over 55,000 people signing her petition demanding action.
Jane, 58, says she was failed by the system when she became perimenopausal aged 37.

Since then she has written a best-selling book and launched her own support service – ‘Menopausal not Mad’, becoming known as ‘The Disruptive Menopause Mentor’.
This week Jane has taken to the stage in front of over 850 people to share her journey, speaking at The Big Festoon, a major business event in Bolton, where she challenged myths and misconceptions around hormones and HRT and encourage more open conversations about menopause.
