Great Start To Poppy Appeal In Market Harborough

This year’s Poppy Appeal in Market Harborough has got off to a great start with over £2,000 raised in less than a week.

The town’s branch of the Royal British Legion are running a stall at Harborough Market and also collecting on the streets.

Volunteers say the response from the community has been excellent, as they strive to match or beat the total of just under £10,000 raised for the appeal in and around the town last year.

Stewart Harrison, Chairman of the Market Harborough branch of the Legion, told Hfm the appeal nationally was hit badly by the impact of the pandemic last year, so every penny donated counts:
