Youngsters To Wave Goodbye To Mobile Classroom After School Extension Approved

Pupils will soon be waving goodbye to a mobile classroom, after the go-ahead for an extension at Church Langton Primary School.

The project, costing £227,000, will see a new classroom built, along with a new office and storage area.

Harborough District Council has granted planning permission for the scheme,

The new-build will be home to the oldest pupils in Year Six and is due to open at the start of the new academic year in August.

Headteacher Stephen Roddy said: “We are always striving to improve the facilities and resources available to our pupils. In recent years this has included our all weather astro-turf pitch and storytelling area and so this new classroom will be a great improvement for our oldest pupils.”

The work will be funded by the Learn Academies Trust, which the school is part of, after the Trust was awarded £1.1m of government cash, to carry out building upgrades at schools within the Trust.
