Go-Ahead For School’s State-Of-Art New Science Block

The go-ahead has been given for a Market Harborough school to build a new state-of-the-art science block.
It will go up at Robert Smyth Academy as part of investment into new facilities worth £3.5m.
Planning permission has been granted so the two-storey building can be constructed at the rear of the school site, off Burnmill Road.
It will contain a number of labs and classrooms and Principal Dan Cleary told HFM he is delighted:

The new building will also be environmentally-friendly, with solar panels and air source heat pumps will be used to heat it.
Funding for the project is coming from Leicestershire County Council using money from housing developers who have built in the town and Tudor Grange Academies Trust, which the school is part of.
