Go-Ahead For New Business Park On Edge Of Market Harborough

The go-ahead has been given for a new business park on the outskirts of Market Harborough.
It will be built on 33 acres of farmland between the B6047 Leicester Road and Gallow Field Road, after councillors approved the plan at a meeting last night.
The development will include a mix of industrial units and offices, which developers say will have the potential of creating over 1,000 jobs.

Harborough District Council’s planning committee heard the area is identified for employment use in the Local Plan, although concerns were raised about the impact of increased traffic on roads in the area.
A number of farm buildings currently on the site will be demolished to make way for the development, to be known as Wellington Business Park.
The site formed part of the airfield that was used by the RAF in World War II and was home to the Wellington Bombers of No. 14 Operational Training Unit of RAF Bomber Command.
Commercial property agent, Prop-Search has been appointed as agent to market and promote the new business park.
