Go-Ahead For Major Works At Foxton Locks

The go-ahead’s been given for major work is to take place at Foxton Locks, which will see the historic flight drained of water for three months.

Harborough Council has granted planning permission for the £150,000 project that will be carried out by the Canal and River Trust.

It will include replacing oak gates on half of the ten locks, repairing brickwork in the lock chambers, and installing new lock ladders.

The work is set to begin later this month, during the time the Grand Union Canal is quieter with boaters.
