‘Get Boosted’ Plea After Rapid Rise In Covid-19 Cases Across Harborough

A rallying call has been made for people across Harborough to get their booster jabs as Covid-19 cases soar.

763 people have tested positive in the District in the past week – 200 more than the previous seven days, as the Omicron variant takes hold.

The infection rate here is 631.2 cases per 100,000 people, just below the national average.

Across Leicestershire, just under 7,000 cases have been recorded in the last week, a rise of 20% on the previous seven days.

Director of Public Health, Mike Sandys, told Hfm he also wants people to think about who they mix with in the run-up to Christmas, in a bid to reduce the spread of the virus:
