A documentary featuring Leicestershire Police’s new recruits has won a top award.
Some of ‘Fresh Cops’ was filmed while officers attended incidents in and around Market Harborough.
It was named Best Popular Factual Programme at the Royal Television Society Midlands awards after the series was shown on BBB3 and made available to watch on the iPlayer, with over half a million views per episode.

The award, given to programmes that ‘explore us and our world in an entertaining way, engaging the viewer with compelling narratives’ was handed to production company Full Fat.
Chief Constable Rob Nixon said: “I want to say a huge thank you to all of the officers and line managers who supported this project.
“A documentary is no easy undertaking and we are hugely grateful to everyone who supported the work.
“In particular I want to flag the huge amount of work that was done behind the scenes and we hope that the series brings some insight to the public as to the challenges our young officers and staff face on a daily basis.”
A second series of Fresh Cops filmed over the summer is due out in the new year.
