Four Schools To Be Part Of Dangerous Parking Clampdown

Written by on 23rd July 2018

Four local schools are to be part of a new scheme aimed at dealing with dangerous parking at the start and end of the school day.

Farndon Fields and Meadowdale Primary Schools in Market Harborough, Lubenham All Saints Primary and The Kibworth School will all be part of the trial, starting in September.

It’ll see new keep clear zones created outside which will be enforceable, meaning parking wardens will be able to issue fixed penalty notices to those who don’t abide by them.

A camera car will also be used to patrol outside the schools to gain evidence of illegal parking.

Leicestershire County Council is behind the move, after it emerged many so-called ‘zig zag’ zones outside schools are only advisory, meaning fines can’t be issued.
