Flood Warning Issued As River Jordan Rises

Written by on 24th November 2024

A Flood Warning has been issued as the River Jordan continues to rise in the Little Bowden and Braybrooke areas.

The Environment Agency says flooding of properties is likely as Storm Burt continues to bring heavy rainfall.

A spokesperson said: “Heavy rain is currently falling in the River Jordan catchment and will continue throughout this evening, Sunday 24th November.

“This is causing River Jordan to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through the night.

“Low lying areas near to the river are already flooded and we now expect properties to be affected this evening onwards.

“Properties on Rectory Lane in Little Bowden are expected to be affected first.

“Further heavy rainfall is forecast for this evening, Sunday 24th November, and therefore river levels are expected to remain high over the next few days. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.”
