Emergency services, including armed police and the air ambulance, were called to the park at 5.50pm.

Detective Constable Julia Brown, who is investigating, said: “This is an extremely serious incident where a young person has suffered multiple stab wounds.

“Fortunately, the victim has been discharged from hospital and is recovering from his injuries at home.

“Knife crime is a force priority and we are determined to get to the bottom of what happened and bring those responsible to justice.

“Despite the arrests our enquiries are continuing to establish exactly what happened but we believe that an argument took place before the victim was stabbed.”

Anyone who has not yet spoken to officers but witnessed the incident or has any information about the circumstances leading up to it is asked to contact 101, quoting incident 430 of 20 August.
