Fleckney Dental Practice says it will be able to take-on 2000 new patients by expanding its premises.

The surgery, which offers NHS and private treatment, has applied for planning permission to extend its base on School Street, so it can increase the number of treatment rooms to five.

There is currently a shortage of dentists across the Harborough area taking-on new NHS patients and the practice currently provides treatment to over 6,800 people.

A document included with the planning application reads: “It is envisaged that once this application extensions are completed, the dental practice will have the facilities to cater for an additional 2000 patients.

“The dental practice will continue to offer dental treatments to patient under NHS and private services and the ratio of NHS and private patients will remain as exist.”

Harborough District Council will consider the application.
