Five vehicle crash in Kibworth

Investigations are underway into a five vehicle crash on Wednesday teatime at Kibworth – resulting in a woman needing hospital treatment.

Fire crews from Market Harborough and Wigston were called to Carlton Road just before four o’clock after reports of a collision involving five cars – one of which had left the road.

One person had to be cut free from the wreckage, and was treated by East Midlands’ Ambulance Service, before being taken to hospital with “non life-threatening” injuries. Two others suffered minor injuries and were assessed at the scene.

The road was shut near to its junction with Albert Street for around two hours whilst forensic evidence was gathered and vehicle recovery took place.

Police are now asking for any further witnesses to Wednesday afternoon’s accident in Kibworth to come forward.
