Two fire crews initially attended the incident and a water carrier was then requested to assist in the firefighting efforts.
Crews continue to remain on site today and on-site machinery is being used to dig out and turn over the waste to help dampen down any hot spots.
The fire service has not reported any injuries, and operations are ongoing to ensure the blaze is fully contained.
