Festive Tractor Run Raises Thousands For Charity

Thousands of pounds has been raised for charity after hundreds of tractors took to the streets of South Leicestershire.

Just under 300 tractors and other vehicles were part of the annual Archers Festive Tractor Run yesterday, which started in Lutterworth and toured round ten towns and villages.

Over £13,000 has been donated on-line and in-person collections made along the route are still to be totted up, with organisers hoping to reach their target of £30,000.

Money raised will be split between Rainbows children’s hospice, Leicestershire MS Therapy Centre, LOROS hospice and the Wishes 4 Kids charity.

The convoy visited Dunton Bassett, Cosby, Whetstone, Blaby and South Wigston, before it made its way to Countesthorpe, Peatling Magna and Peatling Parva and Gilmorton, before returning to Lutterworth.

Crowds lined the streets as the vehicles passed and one of the organisers, Ryan Archer, told HFM it was a fantastic night:
