Extreme Heat Impacts Bin Collections in Harborough District

Harborough District Council has warned that some bin collections may be delayed because of the current spell of hot weather.
The council says refuse crews are working hard to complete collections as normal despite the challenging conditions, including starting their rounds earlier in the day.
However, some collections have been missed due to the extreme temperatures.

In an update to residents, the council said: “Our crews are working hard in this extremely hot weather to complete bin collections in the usual time.”
It added: “Unfortunately, due to the extreme weather we will have some collections missed.”
Residents are being asked not to report missed bins to the council and instead leave them presented at the kerbside.
The council said crews would return to empty any missed bins “as soon as possible” and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
