Extension For Town Centre Post Office

Market Harborough’s Town Centre Post Office will stay open in its current location until September.

A three-month extension has been granted to the branch inside the GT News Shop in St Mary’s Place, which had been due to shut next month.

An alternative premises to house a branch in the town centre has yet to be found, after it was announced at the start of the year the Sub Postmaster was resigning, and it’s the second time an extension has been granted by Post Office bosses, to give more time to hopefully find somewhere.

A Post Office spokesperson told Hfm: “We are pleased to have secured a further three month extension of services at Market Harborough Post Office until September.

“The branch was originally due to close in April.  We understand how important a Post Office is to a community and we would like to reassure customers that we are working hard to maintain a Post Office in this area of Market Harborough.

“Any retailer or small business owner interested in running the Post Office and incorporating it into their business should email NTquestions@postoffice.co.uk or visit https://runapostoffice.co.uk.
