EV Charging Hub Plan Moves Forward

Plans are progressing for a new electric vehicle charging hub in Market Harborough, with a planning application now submitted.
The proposed facility would be located in the northern section of Commons Car Park, opposite the Co-Op store, and provide 11kW charging points for 12 electric vehicles.
It would include a solar photovoltaic (PV) canopy and battery storage system.

The EV Hub will be installed in the Commons Car Park
The canopy would generate sustainable electricity to charge vehicles directly or store energy in integrated batteries for later use.
Harborough District Council is behind the scheme as part of a wider plan to expand public EV charging points across Leicestershire.
Planning permission is required before work can begin on the hub, which would allow car park users to charge electric vehicles while supporting the council’s climate and sustainability goals.
