Duck Recovering After Falling Down Chimney!

A duck’s recovering at the Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital in Kibworth after falling down a chimney!

The fully-grown adult Mallard – named Sooty by staff – was rescued after the owner of the house in Birstall spotted its head popping through the fireplace, which had to be taken out to release the bird.

Apart from needing a good clean and being left with some ruffled feathers, the duck appears uninjured and it doing well – it’s hoped he can be released in a couple of weeks!
