Driver Caught Speeding At 102mph On A6 Bypass

A car driver was clocked at 102mph during speed checks on the A6 Rothwell/Desborough bypass yesterday afternoon.
Northamptonshire Police’s Road Safety Team say the motorist initially slowed down on seeing their enforcement van, but was then caught on camera accelerating away at the high speed.

The driver was one of 22 motorists found breaking the 60mph speed limit in less than two hours.
Four were behind the wheels of goods’ vehicles travelling above the limit relevant to their vehicle type.
A further driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
All now face the possibility of fines, points on their licences, the opportunity to complete a speed awareness course, or an appearance in Court.
